Job Title: General Manager, Janitorial and Maintenance

Job Duties:

Plan, direct, or coordinate the janitorial and maintenance aspects of a company which provides transportation, janitorial, and maintenance activities for schools. Prepare and present bids to schools, verifying square footage and specifying the janitorial and maintenance duties which are offered. For contract amendments, negotiate contract details, for janitorial and maintenance service jobs. Determine the number of persons needed for cleaning the school in the daytime and evening. Hire and engage independent contractors to perform the contracted work. Get feedback from the school, including from the principal or operational manager, about the quality of the work. From time to time, walk around the school to evaluate the standards of cleanliness, using a checklist. Provide feedback to the subcontractor. Resolve customer complaints to the satisfaction of the customer. Switch the cleaning subcontractor if necessary. Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures. Direct or coordinate financial or budget activities for the department. Develop or implement service-marketing strategies, including advertising campaigns or sales promotions.

Place of Employment: Houston, Texas

Travel Required: Periodic day travel within the Houston, Texas Metropolitan Area to evaluate our janitorial and maintenance services and to meet with customers.
